Hayden Sansum

Hayden is a Data Science Build Fellow at Open Avenues Foundation, where he works with students leading projects in Data Science and Biotechnology (machine learning for genomics).

Hayden is a Lead Data Scientist at Day Zero Diagnostics, where he focuses on developing new algorithms and software to diagnose antibiotic resistance profiles of bacteria from genomic sequencing data.

Hayden has over 9 years of experience in the Data Science field. He started his career at the Ministry of Justice, UK before moving into genomics and biotechnology in 2021 and is interested in how to apply foundation models to DNA based data.

He holds a Master’s in Data Science from Harvard University.

A fun fact about Hayden is that has been trying to sew his own outfits, with very mixed success!
