where she works with students leading projects in biomedical science/engineering

Len Magara

Len Magara is a Biomedical Engineering Global Talent Fellow at Open Avenues, where he works with students leading projects in Urological Medical Devices.

Len is a Sr R&D Engineer at Laborie Medical Technologies where he designs, develops and launches new medical devices within the urodynamics and diagnostics space. Len has 7 years of experience in Medical Device Design &
Development and he has taken various medical products (capital equipment, disposable injectors, drug delivery & electromechanical devices) from a concept to a product for patients.He holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical
engineering and a master’s degree in biomedical engineering.

He is an avid movie-goer and most weekends Len will go to the cinema if there’s something interesting on. He also loves rugby in all forms and though he’s a Zimbabwean his favorite team is the New Zealand All Blacks.

Ali Al Abdullatif

Ali Al Abdullatif is a Biomedical Engineering Global Talent Fellow at Open Avenues, where he works with students leading projects in Biomedical Engineering.

Ali is a Research Scientist at CAMP4 Therapeutics where he works on the development of therapeutics to central nervous system diseases. Ali has over 10 years of experience in Neuroscience and Pharmacology. He has worked at Boston
University, Johns Hopkins University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and has now been in industry for 2 years. He holds a Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering with a focus in Neuroengineering.

In his spare time, Ali spends a great deal of time with his dog, Homer.

Ali is also a writer and storyteller and can sometimes be found performing at shows around the Boston area.

Ada del Cid

Ada is a Biomedical Engineering (BME) Global Talent Fellow at Open Avenues, where she works with students leading projects in BME.

Ada is a Senior Research Associate at Tessera Therapeutics where she works on high-throughput lipid nanoparticles formulations. Ada has over 4 years of research experience with lipid nanoparticles, having worked in the past on
DNA barcoding projects under the guidance of Dr. James Dahlman at Georgia Tech. Ada holds a B.S. and B.A. in Chemical Engineering and an M.S. in Biomedical Engineering.

A fun fact about Ada: she enjoys salsa and bachata dancing on her free time.
